Additionally, it is contraindicated for those who are pregnant or nursing, have an impaired immune system, or have cardiac, endocrine, or sensory disorders. Post Laser Hair Removal treatment, it is normal to experience some discomfort, as well as transient redness and/or swelling. These reactions are positive clinical indicators of a successful treatment. Redness and bumps are common and should subside shortly. For the first 24 hours, avoid body lotion and cleanse the treated area gently. Makeup and exfoliation can be applied after 24 hours. Dead hairs will begin to shed between 5–30 days following the treatment. It is important to avoid sun exposure—use unscented SPF, refrain from tanning or using self-tanning products. Do not pick or tweeze any treated hairs. If necessary, you may apply ice to reduce any discomfort. Intense exercise should also be avoided. Normal activities can be resumed after about 3 days.
In some cases, a rash or itching may occur, which can be treated with OTC topical cortisone or Benadryl.
