My name is Laurie Cyr and I am an RN with a BSN degree from the University of Southern Maine. I have been a nurse for more than 30 years with experience in Critical Care, Recovery, Cardiac, Pediatric, and Radiology. Over the years I have acquired a sound knowledge base and I many skills in the nursing profession. One thing I have noticed about myself, with the time spent at EMMC, is that I have always enjoyed growth, new experiences, and opportunities. All this has enabled me to be an Aesthetic Nurse Specialist.

I am a very self-motivated person who constantly seeks challenges both mental and physical. Nursing has allowed me to do this with confidence. Getting into Aesthetics was just adding another hole in my belt, initially. What I never expected was the degree of expertise, precision, and the formation of relationships with clients in an entirely different way than what I have been used to.

I consider my area of expertise to include all things injectable for facial rejuvenation and then pairing it with an energy-based device for a complete treatment. I like to keep clients focused on what really concerns them and then educate and inform them of their best plan. Both men and women are working longer in their lives and want to continue to look as good as they still feel in this competitive market. I like to do what people want and focus on natural, youthful-looking aging.

Growing up in the County I did pick potatoes and work at the papermill. I became a CNA then on to nursing school and the rest is history. An active lifestyle has always been my backbone. I’ve enjoyed the competitive nature of road races and triathlons but I mostly enjoy just staying fit.. My biggest and best life experience and challenge was having twins! Now I enjoy all the fruits of my labor and experience on Pushaw Lake. I have wonderful adult children, grandchildren, and a very supportive husband.

I love how so much of the public thinks I do “fluffy” work. Like I just do Botox. What the reality is, is that there is so much required education, certifications, and performance requirements for all procedures. We do serious and invasive procedures and this is why I am so grateful for all the skills I acquired throughout my career.

I am delighted to join a business that matches my goals of delivering professional and skilled services in the setting of educating clients at the same time. I love to show my education and skills in an enjoyable atmosphere. I plan on being a good representation of my age group and hope to relate to women who enjoy taking care of themselves to stay as young as they feel. I never aim to change anyone but just to love themselves.
